More Old Time ReligionI find, or I think I find, that my friends from the Northeast are far less emotionally connected to religious feelings than my friends from the West. Perhaps it is a case of simply being around longer. That certain brand of Northeastern American Libertarianism has had a chance to seep into the blood. Or perhaps it is that there is a closer connection to that certain brand of Western European Cynicism that has seeped into the mind. I am not talking about affiliation with a religious practice, or the hard earned feelings of belonging to a specific cultural group. I am talking about that fiery western evangelicalism or hippie spiritualism that continues to ignite the emotional response as opposed to say the more intellectual consideration of such matters I often find endemic to the northern East Coast.

It's the jews, toddy. The Jews.
Hmm. Perhaps. But it does seem like the marginalized, the ghetto-ized, who pick up the banner. Like the Hasids, the Pentecostal Puerto Ricans. . .
I think what todd is referring to is the softness of the noodle. NY is al dente. Out west we turn it into a kind of milk. Were you talking about the milk?
