In 'n Out Urge

At school growing up it was pretty easy to tell if you were in the "in" crowd. It basically came down to possessing one of the following t-shirts:
1. Outrigger Canoe Club from Hawaii
2. Any bar in Sun Valley, Idaho
3. In 'n Out Burger from California
The cool kid's parents would take them to these exotic locales on holiday and inevitably they would come back with the right wardrobe. The really cool kids would have all three, and as an extra act of coolness would scratch out the 'B' and the 'R' from the In 'n Out shirt. Eventually the school officials banned that one.

I didn't own any of those shirts. Not until it was too late anyhow. Still, I love In 'n Out Burger. There are few places where I feel so healthy eating a fast food meal. I have to say though, there is absolutely no burger like a burger from Dick's in Seattle. That is my all time favorite hands down. Sometimes, inexplicably, the taste randomly creeps into my mouth and I long to sit on Capital Hill, eating a Dick's Deluxe followed by a Dick's Special and watching the crazies. There are still crazies on Capital Hill right?

I still have and wear my white Hard Rock Cafe sweatshirt from London.

It's way too small, but you can't let a treasure like that go.

this photo is a cruel tease. I barely even eat beef anymore, but it makes me want to stick my face in an in-n-out burger right now and that is a 3,000 mile impossibility.

my high school was lame and the coolest tee anyone could come up with was Senor Frog's.

oh yeah, Papas & Beer.
There was a whole subset of cool guys who sported "Save Water, Drink Beer" t-shirts from Cabo.
One thing was for sure, if you wore a t-shirt from Alaska everyone knew your dad was a fisherman and you were bottom of the barrel. I could never figure that out.
Fishermen have always been rad.

I think the cool kids at my high school wore country music concert shirts or Big Johnson shirts. The emo kids wore Depeche Mode shirts and tight black jeans. The rockers wore slayer and black sabath shirts and tight black jeans. I don't think I fit in. I wore a lot of Redsand and Straight Down volleyball shirts.

SoCal fast food rules.

I was going to take Luther to In and Out on Friday night. It didn't happen. So I took him to my favorite slutty burrito spot and got him a California Burrito. California Burritos have carne asada and french fries in them. Complete evil decadence.
