Tonight is soccer night. I play soccer on Tuesday nights, work willing, family willing. Last Tuesday we lost on a goal scored on a header off a throw in. I have to admit, it was a very good throw in. In fact, the fellow who threw the ball in threw the ball in several times that night, always impressing with the velocity and skill with which he threw the ball. The fellow who scored with his head played somewhat sparingly after the goal for some reason. Or perhaps he just did not play well for the rest of the game. Afterwards, everyone on my team made a point of observing how fleet of foot the goal-scorer was. I vocally protested, stating I did not find him fast at all. I didn't initially think about why I was so vociferous about his average pace until someone said "that's because you're fast too Toddy."
That was it, I wanted to be told I was fast too.
