The enjoyment taken in the wonders of mass transit is not one confined to earnest environmentalists, heady engineers and idealistic city planners. Rather, it is experienced in its truest form by the traveler, in the juncture between places, and usually unperceived. An oft-maligned obligatory moment of impatience and contemplation, hoping and ruing.
