(group lunch table noises, talking, finishing of conversations, water glasses moving on wood)
Ok Oh: Alright, um. So, uh, hows, hows the skateboarding company going?
Ray: Do you really wanna know?
Ok Oh: I guess, you know, I didn't know another question to ask you.
Ray: Kind of in a pile of shit for a minute, except uh, looks like Japan's highly interested in distribution now.
Ok Oh: Oh really?
Ray: Yeah, seriously.
Ok Oh: Thats rad.
Ray: So I'm getting some samples out to them this week, and uh, we're ready to take over Japan. Nippon here I come!
(laughing around the table)
Ray: So that is the raddest news ever because that's called money. (laughing)
Ok Oh: That is called money right, but is that moving a lot of product?
Ray: Uh, it's moving a lot of product at once, but it's also. . . I think that's more of the niche, I don't think people in New York give a crap about Wow! It came in a bottle! like, I think they think it's cool, but they don't care. Whereas in Japan they're gonna go whoosh (holds hands out to the side, makes googlie eyes)
Ok Oh: Right. And it's from New York.
Ray: Right, the guy wrote me, he carries other New York brands that are like underground kind of stuff. . .
Ok Oh: Yeah.
Ray: And I've already checked his like. . .
Ok Oh: Bona fides.
Ray: . . . credentials and like the guy was like I totally trust him, I think you're in good hands, no worries, I do business with him, it's good.
Ok Oh: That's rad.
Ray: You know so. . .um. . .yeah.
Ok Oh: So what happens? They buy bulk?
Ray: He'll buy bulk, probably not tons to start, but he'll buy a little amount and then um, as he blows them out he'll order more and he'll just start hustling all the shops out there.
Ok Oh: Do you sell in L.A. or anything like that?
Ray: Yeah. . .uh. . .no. I haven't really hit Cali yet, I got a little bit of Florida, um, Virginia, Jersey, New York, Connecticut. Those are really the main. . . main spots.
Ok Oh: Oh.
(Andi, from Wisconsin, calls out from across the table: "Midwest?")
Ray: Ahhh, I was workin on Chicago.
(over the loudspeaker: "Ray, call 6432")
Ray: End of interview.
Ok Oh: End of interview. Alright thanks.
Ray Frech owns and operates and test rides for the skate wheel company Prize Fighter Cutlery. We work together and he cracks me up regularly with his stories and astounds me with his good sweaters.

How many interesting people can you surround yourself with? Each person is a classic so far.
Well, it's really not my fault. it may be that I am talking to the most interesting people early, while the real bores I am keeping for th end. I just can't tell what titillates tho.
Wait, I just realized you find these people interesting. Based on these interviews and portraits. Who are you?
i love ray
