Early Century Maile and Joe.

Maile and Joe used to come around early and often. Later, they would break up and Joe would become something of a phantom of the city. Every now and then someone would say "I saw Joe on 12th today" and someone else would say "Man, I wonder how Joe is doing." Maile more or less dropped off at the same time, but her whereabouts were less of a mystery. Before all that dispersion, they were a staple of the parties and goings on of our little crowd of friends.

Three moments:
The night Jose yelled at a cop that he would stab him in his heart were he to come back, after which the cops broke down the door to the apartment and carted him off.
Mark Morris deciding I was the spitting image of Howard Keel while antagonizing Marina by not giving her a cigarette.
Performing a three man interpretive dance full of spontaneously writhing, intertwined body knots at Stinger to ecstatic public ovation.

The Maile & Joe Years were some squishy bunch.

Oh man, no that was another night I think. Could that Joe move or what?
You want to talk about MMA, that guy had some skills on that tip too.
He was a genuine crack up.
