Photography at some point just becomes a rote display of prerecognized signs. No matter how far you think you push it, it comes back to documentation of something you already knew existed. So photography, maybe, is just a reminder.
This photograph reminds me that the cliché is alive and well, all over the world.

I said that exact thing like five years ago. And you argued in a really loud, repetitive way that doesn't work on me. I looked at you and said "you're clearly not ready for this yet."

here we are five years later and you come crawling back with all your stories and ideas from the ivory trade.
