Another No Polaroid Day

I tried to join a group of Central Americans playing soccer on Sunday. They were just setting up their game when I arrived and I kicked the ball around with them for a few minutes. Central Americans have a different sense of timing than I do I think. They take far too long to set up their games, shooting on the big goals, haggling over the size of the teams and generally laying about, waiting. I on the other hand, had not played in three months and I was all hopped up, jumping around, cajoling them to get a game started. I think they got a little fed up with my antics. They found my energetic impatience a little unnerving perhaps. Like their fun, leisurely Sunday partido del futbol would be ratcheted up a bit too much. And I was really going like an energized bunny. I couldn't wait. So when it came time for them to start the game they told me I would have to wait for a spot on the field to open up. I got so mad. I cursed at them and swore at them and stomped away, fuming.
Ever since Sunday, whenever I see a couple of Central Americans laughing and hanging out, I get the feeling they are laughing at me about how they barred me from their game.

You should get into badminton instead.

Jeez, you want a guy like me getting all pissy about a badminton game? I bet after a few minutes you'd send me off the court like those Mexicans.

Those bastards.

Video games, Todd. They'll get your heart more pumping than any lame-ass Sunday afternoon in the park team sport.

Might I suggest Resident Evil 4?
