Today's Curious Cost of LivingOutside the McDonald's on Havemeyer I saw an Indian dressed in that really great Indian fashion, wearing a stylish and comfortable looking fluffy Nehru vest over a light and voluminous pull-on shirt with pajama bottoms poking out over slipperesque-shoed feet. Everything besides the soft black sheen of the shoes a complimentary sandy color. I know I am not the first one to say so, but this really must be the best way to dress.
As I ascended the stairs at the Bowery Stop, I looked back down upon the platform and saw an old Chinese man shuffling out of one subway car and into the next one. I became worried for him that the doors would close before he reached his mark, but he made it with time to spare. What was wrong with the first subway car?
