Time is the preeminent preoccupation of human life. It is what drives our fears, gives us hope and motivates our desires. We languish over time. We revel in time. For most, the thought of eternity forces them to ponder the origin of time, leading them in a wild pursuit to ingest as much time as possible in the whichever way seems appropriate. Time causes a mania like no other consideration in our lives. Sometimes we experience time, or we think we do, but just as often, actually more often, we forget about time. We then assume time has passed even though we have had little immediate sensual recognition of its passing. Time is measured not by some objective measurement, but by a series of tests which involve the concept of time itself, which only adds to our deep seeded misunderstanding of time. Today on my way to work I realized my time is being well spent. For now.
