Last week we went to the grocery store in Red Hook. While my wife shopped, my son and I roamed around the wharf area eating a muffin on a bench, throwing rocks in the water, riding an old metal tricycle. There is freedom here. Freedom to go from home to the grocery store and back home again. Maybe eat some ice cream. When we got back in our own neighborhood, we went to the park and my son slid down the slides and played with other children. My wife walked down the street and shopped in a clothing store. Here is freedom. Sliding down slides and looking at clothes and maybe renting a DVD movie to watch later.
