Lately I've taken to ordering Moros y Cristianos (a cup white rice and black bean with some chopped up cilantro and salsa) and some fried sweet plantains smothered in green salsa and queso blanco from La Esquina for lunch. I mix them up in a bowl for a delectable mash. This reminds me of when I first turned up in these parts downtown a number of years ago. I'd order yellow rice and black beans and cooked spinach and a plate of fried plantains from Cafe Habana.
Today I am anecdotally challenged.
