Honey Nut Cheerios Spilled Milk, Manhattan
I was sitting in line waiting for the elevator when Jon Zast snuck up behind me, looked over my shoulder at this photo and mentioned he'd just walked by the scene himself. Then he asked what I thought the story was there. I hadn't really thought of the story. I had just thought of the spilled breakfast. I didn't know what to say. It seems pretty obvious what happened here. Someone dropped their cup of cheerios. I said that perhaps the person had gone to get more. The elevator was taking a long time. The elevator is really slow. Jon shook his head and walked out the door, apparently looking for another way to his floor.

contemporary narrative often suffers from the doldrums of a forensic mentality.
