I am thinking about the potential embarrassment I will suffer when I read these political posts in the future. Putting oneself out there on such shaky ground as political activism (no matter what format) is inherently scary stuff. How do people do it? All signs point to massive failures, big disappointments and disastrous miscalculations. Politicians, perhaps actually, politics, are just unstable, unforeseeable. Here in this two party dictatorship we participate in a system that purports such wide assumptions as to be permanently blunder-ridden.
Not that there is ever blunder-free policy making.
But still, but still.
This is pretty uncomfortable for my type.
And getting more boring.
Oh man, I am going to be so embarrassed.

What I love is how they mention that the fact he is smoking may "tarnish his image."
That is ridiculous isn't it? The guy was in a Vietnamese pow camp. Int eh late 60s.
Shit, I'd think he was an idiot for not smoking.

It's hard not to empathize with him, although this clip doesn't make me wish he were my president, it makes me want to buy him a drink and chip in on tropical vacation for the guy.
