The standard conventional approach doesn't sit well with Ed. I have known him for about 15 years and as far as I ever noticed, he's done things his own way. Sometimes he drops me a line from San Francisco or London or some other place where people still listen to the Smiths religiously. I am always gratified.

Ed kept a bunch of birds in the Mothership back when. I seem to remember that they made nice chirping songs in the mornings.
That was a little after my time, but I remember coming through SB to visit you and hearing those birds and thinking, "damn, that Ed just does what he wants!"
My bird died three months ago which was sad after having her 11 years so the singing is gone in my flat but Im glad for friends like you that add to my life, Thanks Toddy!...love ya mucho---Ed
