Lambert

There is an old Disney short called "Lambert The Sheepish Lion."
For some reason when I was a kid we had it on the same VHS as the Disney "Robin Hood."
When I was bored I would pop it in and watch Lambert then Robin Hood.
We also had Errol Flynn's "Robin Hood" and a load of Cary Grant films of which my favorite were "North By Northwest" and "Father Goose."
I would watch these films over and over again.
During some stretches I watched them at least once a week.

The theme songs for these movies run in my head even as an adult.

The Lambert song goes like this:

Lambert, the sheepish lion,
Lambert, theres no deny'n,
He's the wild and wooliest lamb,
Lambert the sheepish lion.

Every time you sing Lambert, bleat out the 'a' as if you were a sheep.
Its fun.

wow. lamber the sheepish lion!? i haven't thought of lambert for a long time. I remember when lambert's mom was on the edge of that cliff and it took lambert seeing his moms in trouble to actually step up his game and roar like a real lion. i think we had the Disney picture book. you know the ones that you turn the page when you hear the chime ring like this: "Cliiinggga". Lambert kind of reminds me of Ferdinand the Bull. very similar situation. i remember watching that right before "the black hole" came on with anthony perkins. scariest movie i ever saw. Holy cow, maximillian gave me nightmares for weeks. good lord, i think i need therapy.

I have never seen "The Black Hole."
Instead I had the comic book summary version and that scared the crap out of me too.
I also had the comic book summary version of "Condor Man" which I thought was awesome.
For a long time I used to make "Condor Man" allusions and claim it was one of my favorite movies (having never actually seen it.) One of my friendds actually bought me the Condor Man DVD and watching it I realized it is one of the worst films ever. Well, maybe not that bad, but the guy they cast to play Condor Man has the whiniest, most annoying voice ever. Plus, he is a real douchebag.
It would be kind of a letdown, but my inner 90's adolescent lover of irony thinks its even better this way.

The scariest movies I saw as a child were "The Shining" and "Something Wicked This Way Comes."

Oh yeah and that moment in "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" where the pretty angel turns into a demon angel.

Oh man, that still gives me the willies.

i remember condor man too. i watched that movie and loved it, not for the acting or anything but because that old truck turns into that sweet yellow condor car. that was awesome. and the black porsches (the bad guys) weren't have bad either. ironically, the actor that played condor man (Michael Crawford) went on to fame as the originator of The Phantom in broadway show and his side kick (don't know his name) went on to make one of the seminal movies of the 80's as Scott Howard's Dad in Teen Wolf. i loved that movie.

Something wicked this way comes was totally freaky. my parents wouldn't let us watch it, but they showed on the disney channel and we figured anything on the disney channel was fair game. i can't get on a merry-go-round since seeing that dude get electricuted and turn super old. yikes!

scariest movie i ever saw was one night when my parents weren't home my brother barry pepper and i watched aliens (the james cameron one). only movie i ever had to change the channel for when my parents weren't coming in the room.

also arachnophobia and 20,000 leagues under the sea. giant octopi are scary.
