Working within the confines of advertising is a very different sort of process. Or a similar one, depending on where you're coming from. There are a lot of points of view, more than a couple artistic temperaments with persistent ideas about how things ought to be, and a whole lot of hand wringing about perception. And this is all to be expected. Applauded, even. Like any collaborative film making, television commercials are necessarily committee oriented. So when something turns out well, when the final product does what it is supposed to do, one has something to be proud of. Jordan Alport shot this regional McDonald's advert with a steep hill ahead of him: tell a compelling, emotional story, placing the viewer within the context of a relationship, with a surprise reveal and a triumphant, sentimental ending. All in sixty seconds. All in only two days of magic hour. All on the very cheap.  Nice.
