There is a whole genre of work that accumulates in what amounts to a Nowheresville of old, forgotten projects. Whether someone decided they didn't make the grade, or they didn't make the grade for long enough, or they were just simply overlooked, these sleepers tend to settle like so many digital dust-bunnies. A handful of years ago the curiously talented Jon Fine brought me a box full of stills and we sat and worked out a method to the madness, building a little car commercial exploratory spot. The idea was neat and he really did pull it off, in my estimation. But somehow these things have a way of slipping away. About a year after we wrapped. I started noticing some very creative types had taken this effect to a whole new, and interesting level and even recently this process has been cropping up almost as an afterthought. Which is to say I am all the more bummed out that this little experiment didn't get us further at the time.  Here's to Jon Fine.
