Soup Portraits

Of course the state of mind affects the hand-eye coordination. Soup on a Sunday night means a couple friends come over and bring beer and wine with the desired effects. There is also the question of paper and preparation. Newsie's portrait was rendered on an envelope unopened, allowing for a certain soft purchase to the ball point (supplied by Newsie himself). I think the vertical nature of the canvas also forced some overcompensation; Newsie is simply not that squat. On the other hand, the slick green butcher paper slips the ball freely and when Rachel suddenly turns mid-sitting, the shape of the canvas permits a compensation of a freer nature. Either way, this was all a few glasses of red and a few bottles of yellow in, so yeah, there you go.
