Danny is an American

Last week Danny became a citizen of the United States. He squeezed into an auditorium with a low ceiling in a technical college in downtown Brooklyn packed with anxious immigrants. He said his very first truthful Pledge of Allegiance and took an oath to defend the country. After singing the national anthem, as everyone was slowly shuffling out, he heard Neil Diamond's "America" over the loud speaker. Right before reaching the door, as the last few notes of "America" played out, the next song on the rotation kicked in: "Born in the USA."
