Today for lunch I had two tamales, a Tiger beer and one Marlboro Ultra Light cigarette.
I bought the pack of Marlboro Ultra Light cigarettes because it felt right, especially after having two tamales and a beer.
Now I feel faintly fuzzy from those three things, but it is a kind of good fuzzy that takes me a little bit away from the unseen and indefinable stress I have been feeling lately.
My friend Mark got back from Trinidad and brought me a red Addidas Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation soccer jersey with the words WARRIORS, and underneath, IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING emblazoned on the back in big white capitalized letters.
He gave it to me last night while I was eating dinner with my friend Michael.
We had endive salad, roast beets for starts and I had a duck, carrot and cauliflower entree while Michael enjoyed the pork and pork entree. I drank a few Presidentes and he had a Makers Mark neat. We had port for dessert.
I got home pretty early and my wife was still up watching the Uma Thurman/Meryl Streep vehicle "Prime."
I watched the last part of that and had a long night's rest, waking up before the alarm this morning and driving my wife to work early.
For the rest of today I have been progressively grumpier, leading me to a tamale, beer and Marlboro Ultra Light lunch.
Its just too uncanny. Life really is one big connected thing.
